Iran classic tour in 16 days starts in Mashhad, ends in Shiraz. We start with cultural province of Khorasan city of Mashhad and holy shrine of Imam Reza and then Timurid sites of Khargard and Nashtifan windmills. We also have a visit to Tus for visiting the tomb of great Persian poet, Ferdowsi. We take a flight to Tehran. We walk from current capital of Iran, Tehran, which is renowned for its galleries and museums. We keep our way to small city of Kashan and its spectacular tourist sites. Next stop at Safavid city of Isfahan, capital of Iran in 1500s – 1700s, stunning city of Islamic art and architecture. Later, we drive to the oasis city of Yazd, city of pomegranates and Persian aqueducts, where wind-catchers are seen widely. We also visit the only circular caravanserai in Iran, Zein-ol-Din in city of Mehriz. For unforgettable days, we drive to Kerman province and Shahdad desert. Starry sky of Lut desert which is registered by UNESCO, gathering around the fire and drinking herbal teas awaits for us. Last but not least, Shiraz where we have a worthy visit to the largest empire of ancient time and the first Persian Empire, Achaemenid (550-330 B.C).
Day 1 | Mashhad & Toos
Transfer to Hotel
Visit the Most Religious city
Welcome to Mashhad. DanaTrips host is available to assist you at Mashhad International Airport and transfer you to the hotel. First we have a worthy visit to Holy Shrine of Imam Reza. All Muslims and non-Muslims are welcomed to this sacred place. Later, we have a visit to Tomb of Nader Shah founder of Afsharid dynasty. We keep our way to small city of Toos near Mashhad for visiting the Tomb of Ferdowsi. Ferdowsi is one the great Persian poet and he was also author of world’s longest epic, “Shahnameh” or book of kings. Our final visit will be Tomb of Harooniyeh. Overnight stay in Mashhad.
Day 2 | Khargerd & Nashtifan
Visit 1000 Windmills
Morning drive to small town of Khargerd for visiting Timurid school of Khargerd back to 14-15th centuries. Continue drive to Nashtifan for visiting 1000 years old Nashtifan windmills.These windmills are still used and their structure is completely different for those European one. In the evening we drive to Mashhad. En-route visit to Khaf city. Overnight stay in Mashhad.
Day 3 | Tehran
Tehran City of Contemporary Art
Early morning fligh to Tehran. First we have a visit to symbol of Tehran, Azadi Tower. After a healthy breakfas, Iran National Museum is on the top of the list, where aging more than 70 years. Next site that is UNESCO world heritage site is fabulous Golestan Palace with those colorful tile-work and mirror-work that attracts any tourist. National Jewelry Museum is placed in basement of Central Bank of Iran is the next. Tabiat Bridge the largest pedestrians overpass in the whole country and later we walk to Ferdows Garden. Tonight is time to enjoy a welcome dinner in Iranian style. Overnight stay in Tehran.
Day 4 | Kashan
Kashan City of Iranian Houses
Early morning drive to Kashan. En-route visit to Qom city. We have short stop at this city for visiting Holy Shrine of Fatima Masoumeh. Head for Kashan and its attractions. Kashan is located about 240 km away Tehran and its traditional Iranian houses are famous in whole country. First visit to traditional Iranian House of Tabatabaei and then Sultan Amir Ahmad Hammam (traditional bathhouse). After a local lunch, we head for Agha Bozorg Mosque, traces back to Qajar era and its reputation is because of its simplicity. We spend one night in Kashan, at one of those traditional houses that is converted into the hotel. You are free to stroll in Kashan Bazaar and enjoy a cup of tea (chay) at Timch-eh Amin-al Dolleh. Overnight stay in Kashan.
Day 5 | Abyaneh & Isfahan
Red Village of Abyaneh
Morning drive to red village of Abyaneh, located 87 km away Kashan. What makes Abyaneh a wonderful village to visit is the local people. Later we drive to city of Islamic art, Isfahan or as it is called “half of the world”. This evening we enjoy Pahlavani and Zoorkhanei Ritual, inscribed in 2010 on intangible list of UNESCO. It describes a ritual collection of gymnastic and callisthenic movements performed by men. We enjoy the vibrant city of Isfahan by visiting famous bridges on Zayandeh Rood River where people hang up and meet up. Overnight stay in Isfahan.

Isfahan City of Blue Art
Today, first we visit Chehel Sotoun Palace the n we head out for an energetic day of sightseeing, begin with Naghsh-e Jahan square registered by UNESCO in 1979. First visit to shinning mosque of Shah (Imam) located in south of square, then we move to splendid mosque of Sheykh Lotfollah in western side of square. Later visit to Ali Qapu Palace. You are free to roam along historic Qeysareieh Bazaar. Finally we take a worthy visit to Music Museum in Armenian district of the city where you will also enjoy the beauty of Vank cathedral in night. Overnight stay in Isfahan.
Day 7 | Isfahan
Isfahan Half of the World
Today we visit Isfahan Jameh Mosque, a unique monument in Iran. Before leaving for Yazd, we have a visit to Vank Cathedral which is built by Armenian Christians in 1600s and they still live. Evening drive to Yazd. En-route visit to Meybod for visiting old castle and Kabutar Khaneh (pigeon tower) of the city. We also take a visit to pottery & ceramic work-shop. We arrive in Yazd at night so we have a chance to visit Amir Chakhmagh Tekyeh. During night, we hang up in Art House of Yazd to feel the history of the city. Overnight stay in Yazd.
Day 8 | Yazd & Mehriz
Yazd City of Zoroaster
Our walking in Yazd starts Jameh Mosque of Yazd, then we walk into Fahadan, en-route visit will be Alexander Prison. We dedicate our time on visiting Bahram Fire Temple or Atashkadeh-e Yazd and its eternal fire. Then we visit Water Museum, former house of Yazdi merchant. Visiting Towers of Silence is the final site. Late drive to Mehriz for spending wonderful night at the only circular caravanserai in Iran. Overnight stay in Mehriz.
Day 9 | Kerman
Kerman City of Pistachio
Morning drive to Kerman. Our city tour starts with Ganj Ali Khan complex which is historical building such as bathhouse, museum, bazaar, mosque and school. Later we visit Jameh Mosque of Kerman. We also have a chance to visit the only Zoroastrian Museum in whole country, the Zoroastrian Museum of Kerman. Overnight stay in Kerman.
Day 10 | Mahan & Bam
Bam City of the Oldest Citadel
Morning drive to Mahan for visiting Persian Garden of Shazdeh and Shah Nematollah Vali Mausoleum. Later drive to Bam city for visiting the brick citadel of Bam and its surrounding area which all inscribed by UNESCO in 2004. Keep driving to Shahdad area and Kalout desert part of Lut Desert which is also registered by UNESCO in 2016. Overnight stay in Shahdad.

There are lot to do in Shahdad, where you can enjoy starry sky, calmness of desert, delicious local food, camel riding and staying at traditional house. Day 12 | Meymand & Pasargadae

After a healthy breakfast, we drive toward Pasargadae, tomb of Cyrus the Great in Fars province. Today we spend most of the time in road. We have scheduled stops for refreshments, meals and breaks. En-route visit will rocky village of Meymand, registered as UNESCO site. In the road we can all together enjoy Persian songs, the voice of Mohammad Reza Shajarian and we have also a selection of Italian music. We have also a chance to visit a pistachio farm. We keep our way to our final destination, Marvdasht. Overnight stay in Marvdasht.
Day 13 | Persepolis & Shiraz
Persepolis the Capital of Persian Empire
Today we take a wonderful sightseeing to Achaemenid Capital. Persepolis ceremonial complex is the amazing palace which is built by order of Darius the Great, (Darius I). During your visit in Persepolis, we visit winter palace of Darius I, The Tachara alongside Hadish, the palace of Xerxes I, the council hall and others. After Persepolis, we shall drive to the nearby tombs at Naqsh-e Rustam, believed to be those of the Achaemenid rulers Darius I (522 – 485 BC), Xerxes (486 – 465 BC), Artaxerxes (465 – 424 BC), and Darius II (423-404 BC). Keep driving to Shiraz. We visit holy shrine of Shah Cheragh. Overnight stay in Shiraz.
Day 14 | Shiraz
Shiraz City of Kind People
Today we are in Shiraz. Early morning visit to colorful Nasir-al Mulk Mosque or as it called Pink Mosque. Then we walk to Narenjestan Qavam House, traditional Qajari house converted into museum. Later Karim Khan Citadel is visited. Vakil bazaar and its other belongings constructions such as Vakil bathhouse and Vakil mosque is the next stop. Persian Garden of Eram is our next stop. Last but not least is Hafez Tomb, Persian poet of 14th. Overnight stay in Shiraz.
Day 15 | Maharloo & Sarvestan
Visit to the Historical Palace
Morning drive to Sarvestan for visiting Sassanid palace in Sarvestan town. Then we have stop at Maharloo Lake or as it is called the Pink Lake for enjoying a wonderful view. Later we drive back to Shiraz. Overnight stay in Shiraz.
Day 16 | Shiraz
Transfer to the Airport
Late in the morning, your guide accompanies you to the SYZ airport that can be easily reach. For those not ready to return home yet, Shiraz is a great jumping off point to Qeshm, Boushehr, Ahwaz and many other exciting destinations.
